Where it all began
1989

Where it all began

Founder Dolf Nieland starts out on the Meervelderweg in Leicester, the Netherlands. What begins with a batch of greenhouses and flower bulbs grows into a passion for outdoor living.
1992

Opening the doors to the public

Trade is going well and Fonteyn starts selling to the public. Demand for garden products keeps growing, and part of the greenhouses is turned into a showroom.

1996

Into the world of spas

Nieland spots a market that is still rare at the time: the spa bath. Contacts are made, the first models roll out, and they are sold under the name Fonteyn Spas.
2002

Going international

The luxury market grows fast and Fonteyn Spas grows with it, showing the latest models at major European fairs in cities such as Lyon and Barcelona, and becoming an international name.

A fresh new look

A year of renewal. The brand gets a modern make-over and the now familiar specialities take shape: garden furniture, garden rooms, spas, outdoor kitchens, saunas, swimming and verandas.
