Do you have a spa in your back garden? Or are you looking for more information about the maintenance of a Jacuzzi® before purchasing one? With a few tips, you’ll know exactly what to do to keep your Jacuzzi® or spa in perfect condition. And you know what? Maintaining a spa does not have to be time-consuming. Read on for some simple tips to ensure it never goes wrong!
Jacuzzi® minor maintenance
Minor maintenance of a Jacuzzi® does not take much time, but it is necessary in order to enjoy your spa for as long as possible. This includes maintenance of the filters and the water.
Every spa has several built-in filters that ensure the water remains clean. But, of course, they must work well! Make sure you give them a good cleaning once a month so that the water in your tub is always well filtered. We recommend replacing the filters annually for clean and clear water.
Water maintenance
Do you shower daily because you recognise the importance of hygiene? Yes? Sensible. Of course, the same goes for your spa. You want to be able to enjoy a spa with clean and clear water day in, day out. One way to keep your water clean is with the product Aquafinesse. It is easy to use and takes almost no time at all. Only add the recommended amount of Aquafinesse to the water once a week, and you are guaranteed soft and clear water.
It is also important to maintain the chlorine content of the water. You’ll need to check the chlorine level regularly with special test strips. This makes it easy to determine whether the chlorine needs to be topped up to keep the water clear. You can use chlorine tablets for this. If too much chlorine has been added, the water can foam or become cloudy. The chlorine content of your water may have become disturbed due to environmental conditions. For example, after a severe thunderstorm. So, make sure you check this once or twice a week.
Jacuzzi® major maintenance
In addition to minor maintenance, it is, of course, important to give your spa a major cleaning every three months.
Cleaning pipes
You must be wondering what we mean by cleaning pipes! Don’t worry; this isn’t rocket science. With a special jet and pipe cleaner, you can clean the pipes of your Jacuzzi® in no time. First, turn off the air supply so that only water flows through the pipes. Then add the special cleaner to the water and let the bath bubble for about 10 minutes. The cleaning solution instantly gets to work and cleans all of the pipes thoroughly!
Change the water
After cleaning the pipes, you can drain the bath and use a shell polish to clean the tub. This is a cleaning agent that will make your tub shiny again. When this is complete, you can refill the bath with fresh water.
